The beaches here are perfect for beginners: sandy bottom beach break (where the waves break over a sandy bottom), which means no rocks or reefs to worry about. With no sharks in the water, you can focus on building confidence and having fun! We provide soft-top boards with flexi fins which are more forgiving when you wipeout! 

There’s also plenty of space to spread out. Long Beach, Cox Bay, and both North and South Chesterman beach offer many peaks that shift constantly, so crowds are naturally dispersed. Some spots have smaller, softer waves, while others offer a bit more challenge as you progress.
