Our co-ed daily group lessons are suitable for anyone who is newer to surfing! The Day 1 is great for the beginner. You will learn the basics and get a grasp on what surfing is all about. Once you’ve given surfing a try and you know you want more, come geek out with us on a Day 2! Dive deeper into the world of surfing and get all the pointers needed to prepare you for your future surfing career!
These lessons offer three hours of quality surf instruction with no more than five students to one instructor.
Day 1 Group Lesson
Day 1 is the basics. The lesson starts on the beach where you learn all about:
- Equipment usage and care
- Ocean safety
- Surf etiquette
- Proper surfing technique
Following the theory, we head out to waist deep water where you’ll enjoy catching tons of whitewater waves and learn from the tips our experienced instructors have to share.
*Prerequisites – students must have basic swimming skills and be 12 years or older (over 5 ft and 100 lbs).
Day 2 Group Lesson
Day 2 is a continuation of Day 1, picking up where we left off. You’ll be introduced to more advanced theory and technique, moving towards our ultimate goal as surfers, riding the “green” or peeling wave.
You’ll learn about:
- How winds, tides and swells affect our surf and how to decide what beach to surf at
- How to paddle out (turtle rolls and ‘up and overs’)
- The theory of choosing, catching and riding the green wave
- How to begin to manouver and turn your surfboard
*Prerequisites – students must have decent swimming skills, be 12 years or older (over 5 ft and 100 lbs) and have taken either a Day 1 or Private lesson from us recently.
Rates and Lesson Schedule
$85+tax per session all gear included
$75+tax per session if you rent or own your own gear
Summer Lesson Times: (March 12-October 16) 9:30am-12:30pm and 1:30-4:30pm
(July/August) Sunset Session 5:30-8:30pm
Winter Lesson Times: (October 17-March 11) 11:00am-2:00pm
